MY HUMBLE BEGINNING -
My photography journey didn't start like most. I've always loved taking photos but never thought of it as a possible career path until 2020. My original plan going into college was to become an elementary school teacher. The pandemic hit while I was in the middle of my education degree and we all went virtual and I realized that if I couldn't learn virtual then how could I teach virtually. I came back once schools started back in person and my heart just was not in it. I realized that school isn't for everyone. I had already been working at Chipotle for a few years and was starting to realize that I didn't want to work my life away rolling burritos. I loved people and personal connections. I was introduced to weddings in 2019 and was able to book my first wedding in December of 2020 and I fell in love with it from then on. I dropped out of college and focused my heart and soul into photography, starting a business up in Mobile Al, and photographing any celebration and special occasion I could.
In summer 2022, I went all in.
I worked at Chipotle for another year or so before turning in my hat and apron and in the summer of 2022 I said I'm gonna go all in with photography, and it's been the BIGGEST BLESSING EVER. The Lord has provided me with so many opportunities and it's just a reminder to me that I am exactly where He wants me. There was definitely some highs and lows in that first year full time, but I remind myself that I'm living my dream life and to just keep taking it day by day! I somehow found my way back up to Birmingham in June of 2023 and life has been going nonstop since then.
Very simply put: I love what I do, who I do it for, and where I get to do it. The Lord has placed this passion for people and the relationships they form and has blessed me with the ability to document them. Not many people get to say they love their job and feel called to it–but I am lucky enough to be one of them. I have a documentary style approach. I love capturing the authentic moments, and real emotions. The laughter, tears, and the shots that make you look back on your day, and not only view the images but feel them, too. As a woman who is strong in her faith I take the love that the Lord has for His people and use that love to capture the love that my couples share. I have seen the Lord bring together so many amazing people with love so pure and I am truly honored to have played small roles in peoples big day!

I have a sweet 10 year old kitty who is the love of my life. She's named after Sherlock Holmes' John Watson (the RDJ version). Ninety percent of the time you can find me and Watson, snuggling on the couch laughing at either Modern Family, New Girl, or Parks & Rec, with a glass of wine.
I started collecting vinyl records way back in middle school. It was an activity my Dad and I bonded over growing up. Over the years my collection has expanded and grown. I have over 200 albums. My all time favorite record would be my Buckingham Nicks album!
Do you ever wish you could go back in time and live in a certain time period? For me, that's the 80's. I have a whole shelf of my 80's films, and albums on vinyl. If it was up to me I'd live every day as an 80's teen but sadly, John Huges did not direct my life.
Harry Potter is my past present & future. I'm an annual pass holder at Universal Orlando and jump at every opportunity to go. Growing up as an only child, I turned to books and movies for company. I love the way a good book can transport you into a different world. If a movie is that good, I'll go see it in theaters more than once for different reasons, sometimes I'll focus on the score, the next time costumes & settings, you get the idea.

Rox is EVERYTHING- literally. She is an expert at reading the room and redirecting the mood based on what you need. She is a LIFE SAVER and made all the difference! Honestly by the end of our wedding, she felt more like family than our photographer- there is nothing she can't do! Rox is exactly who you need behind the camera and in the room on your wedding day!

Let me tell you, this was the funnest photoshoot I have ever done. There was never a dull moment and Rox knew exactly how to get me out of my shell. She’s super sweet, funny and will show you exactly the best poses for the moment. She truly made me feel beautiful and hyped me up the whole time. Her professionalism is top tear and she communicates well with directions, her creative vision, as well as what poses would flatter the best. I was hesitant going into the shoot but I am so glad I chose Rox to capture these beautiful photos of me.

Rox was happy even at 5 am, and so easy to talk to and get along with. Showing up we were prepared and felt we knew clearly what the plan was. I’m the lost photogenic type so her encouragement made me feel more comfortable and confident during the shoot. We look at the pictures daily. Life is hectic and they’re a good reminder of why we chose each other and continue to choose each other every day.

I have known Rox since college and finally got to reconnect for some amazing photos! Wesley and I warmed up so quickly (and we are SO awkward for photos lol) I knew when I looked through her work that’s exactly the style and feeling I was wanting and she did such a phenomenal job capturing our love. She helped with prompts when we didn’t know what to do and didn’t mind making sure we got the shot we wanted. The entire session was such a treat. Can’t wait for the next time we need some photos. We will definitely be calling my girl Roxanna!

I think the best way I can sum up our experience is how much my husband enjoyed it. My husband is not the photo person in this relationship. Rox made us both feel so comfortable and made sure we had so much fun during our photo shoot!! When we got our photos back, my husband has never been so complimentary of photos of us. Neither of us could pick favorites!
